I’ve been MIA from posting anything for a while and I apologize. Life has been really busy this last year. So this is to catch you up on what’s been going on.
My first child was born in September and we spent most of the year preparing for her arrival. Renovating the spare bedroom into a nursery, reading pregnancy and baby books and blogs, pinning tons of cute baby clothes and crafts, getting our finances in order and putting money in savings, taking a family vacation (probably the last one for awhile, at least until baby can travel well) and slowing down my business to give me the freedom to take some time off after the baby was born.
Now that I’ve been on maternity leave for 15 weeks I’m finally ready to get back to work. I’m a co-owner, with my mom, of Kards by Kaylee. We make handmade greeting cards and invitations. Until now I haven’t been ready to go back to work.
The lack of a paycheck along with needing a little structure in my life is part of why I’m ready to get back to work but more than that it’s MY business. I built it to have the freedom of being my own boss and making my own schedule. Plus it’s the reason I’m able to stay home with my precious little girl (and my husband works really hard so that I only need a part time income). So now I start the journey of how to get things done with a baby. Wish me luck! If you have any tips or suggestions for being productive with a little one leave me a comment below.
well less baby doctor appointments for one. lol. and then if you could make her sleep while she is here so we can work is another thing you could do. ha ha!
Take short naps when baby is napping, then you will not be so tired and maybe can get some of the work done in the evening when Daddy is home to help with the baby and/or chores. He needs to spend time with baby anyway and this is a good time, to take some of the load off Mom. Wish I were there, I could help with baby Lily. LOL One more thing, take all advice with a grain of salt, don’t take them seriously or personally. You are the mother and mothers know when baby is not acting right and needs to see or at least call the doctor. I used to call the doctor, which you can hardly do that these days, doctors are not normally available to talk on the phone.
Which is unfortunate, it would save a lot of needless trips to the doctor. Love you, Gr/grandma Nell.
